‘BizNiz’ Network unites Chatsworth entrepreneurs
An insightful and successful ‘BizNiz’ Network was recently held by Dez Govender, who is an entrepreneur and internationally qualified journalist.
The event, which was held at the Tudor Conference Centre, brought a fresh outlook and highlighted the business networking opportunities in Chatsworth.
The business network came to life after Govender noticed the lack of support for business people and entrepreneurs in the community.
Having been in the Durban network scene for years, he noticed that some people lacked passion, had outdated ideas and needed to reinspire entrepreneurs in the digital age while empowering traditional businesses to move toward a digitalised economy.
“The entrepreneurial journey is a stressful one but something needed to shift in the mindset. They are cornerstones of every local community and challenging economies often stifle businesses to employ people, diversify and grow,” he said.
The meeting focused on building trust and rapport in business while supporting, building and growing local businesses. It went back to the art of engaging, building meaningful connections and not just being a card-collecting exercise.

The event had a packed line-up of speakers, open networking sessions and fun interactive elements for the guests, which included singing and poetry. Govender was the host with Neil Naicker, an international corporate trainer, who both set the tone for the night.
The pair touched on de-stressing techniques, skillful networking tips and the art of good communication.Life coach and motivational speaker, Nelson Reddy opened the talks and focused on goal setting, objectives and gave tips on being the best you can be.
Keynote speaker, Anasia Govender, who is a local comedienne and business woman, shared her journey into entrepreneurship and how she overcame her fears to reveal her now famous alter-ego ‘Annalakshmi’.
Personal development life coach and poet, Irene Munthree, from ‘High on I’, shared profound wisdom on entrepreneurship.
The event was energised, vibrant, inspiring and exceeded all expectations. It was a great way for business people to engage with like minded people.
